Layer upon layer
Now and again I'm coaxed from hibernation by some element or other, like warm weather or a young pretty face, but I still feel like a few years of scales are falling away and have to be shed. These are crazy times when the west winds rip across Alabama and turn a fine day into a trial. But then I turn to the insane, random chance that is the future, Mr. Geddes, and I feel dizzy with possibilities. Chinatown to the Grateful Dead, no big surprise there. Anyway, I try to locate the proper convection currents to make things pleasant. Baseball season starting is always a good way to get that flowing, actually. Then the next thing you know the Masters are on and you're wondering how you got so far into the year already. Last week I woke up to a dead TV and instead of celebrating, I went out and bought a bigger one that hypnotizes me with its high definition and intense colours. Great. I made a pact with myself that I would not watch it very much but I haven't been very firm. Education or sports....
